Montenegro
The first ecological state, is classified as a group of Mediterranean countries, although it also represents a typical mountainous area in which areas above 1. 000m above sea level occupy as much as 60.5% of its territory. Especially the magnificent mountain wedding of Bjelasica and Durmitor, connected with the picturesque canyon of the river Tara, the deepest and longest in Europe.
Kolasin
Kolasin is located in the central part of Montenegro at an altitude of 965m. Through it passes the Adriatic Highway linking it with the sea to the south and the continental part of the state in the north. Through Belgrade, Bar Belgrade passes through Kolašin, and it is at the same time the highest level of the railway lines of the Balkan.
The most important local attraction is the National Park Biogradska gora, which lies between the mountain peaks of Bjelasica and occupies an area of 4.000ha, of which it is under the noise of 2. 600ha, and the rest is mountain pastures and meadows. Biogradska Gora is one of the last three hills in Europe. In the center of the National Park is the Biogradsko Lake at an altitude of 1.094m.
No less attractive location is the Moraca Monastery built in 1252. The interior of the monastery is painted with frescoes of great artistic value, among which is certainly the most important Gavran food of the prophet Ilija. In the monastery treasury, copies of old manuscripts and printed books are kept.
One of the visited Kolašin attractions is the Mrtvica canyon, located 35km south of Kolašin and it is 9km long. In Kolasin there is a unique botanical garden that represents a true jewel in terms of the continental part of Montenegro.
Kolasin and its surroundings are the foundation of the ecological state of Montenegro and if you want to experience this beauty to meet people and their hospitality, come once and you will always be back.
Kolašin has long been known as a winter tourist center, in the vicinity of the 8km distance is the mountain Bjelasica and the ski resort Kolašin 1450. From the base there is a lighthouse to the top Ćupovi at a height of 1880m from where the Ključ, which is located at a height of 1930m above sea level leads a ski lift, in addition there are also several smaller ski lifts. Considering that Bjelasica has much greater potential, due to the pitifulness of the mountains of a large number of meadows, big snowfall, we hope that it will soon provide its guests with much more content.
