Tara River is the longest river of Montenegro (144 km). Tara River is derived of rivers of Opasnica and Veruša and of melting winter snow and seasonal rains. Source of the Tara River is in the foot of Komovi Mountains, and together with Piva River, close to the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, they form Drina River from Šćepan polje.Tara River carved one of the deepest canyon gorges in the world which is 78 km long and more than 1300 meters high, what make Tara River Canyon the deepest river canyon in Europe ! Protected by UNESCO since 1977, Tara River Canyon is one of the top 25 recognized world nature heritage sites.
SPLAVIŠTE -ŠĆEPAN POLJE-Three day arrangement
Tour program:
I DAY – Starting with boats from Splavšte, followed by Ljutica, bridge on Đurđević Tara, green springs, Žugića Luka, Lever Tara and Radovan Luka where we will spend the night in the camp.The length of the downhill is 38km.
II DAY – Departure from Radovan Luka to the camp Brštanovica where we will spend the night in tents. The length of the downhill is 40km.
III DAY –Departure from camp Brštanovica to Šćepan Polje and return. The length of the downhill is 18km. The length of the downhill of this three-day arrangement is 96km.
